BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Andrej Basica (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade Grammar School) of No. 13-ranked Harvard University tallied six goals and three steals during a 2-1 league weekend at home in Blodgett Pool to earn the November 1 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week award.
A three-time weekly honor selection after earning co-Rookie of the Year laurels on September 6 and claiming outright recognition on October 4, Basica racked up a trio of goals for a hat-trick in a 12-9 loss to No. 11 Princeton University before notching two goals and a steal in a 20-5 defeat of St. Francis College Brooklyn. He capped off his weekend by putting away a goal with two assists, two steals and a pair of ejections drawn in a 20-8 handling of Iona College.
