BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Andrej Basica (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade Grammar School) of No. 14-ranked Harvard University totaled six goals and three steals during a 2-1 league weekend for the Crimson to earn the October 4 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week award.
A two-time weekly honor selection after earning co-Rookie of the Year laurels on September 6, Basica opened the weekend by pumping in a goal during a 10-8 win at No. 13 Princeton University on Saturday, October 2, prior to notching three goals with a steal in a 12-10 loss at St. Francis College Brooklyn later in the day.
On Sunday, October 3, he scored twice and grabbed a pair of steals with an ejection drawn in an 18-14 victory at Iona College.
