BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Gabe Putnam (Sr., Clovis, Calif./Buchanan) of No. 10-ranked Harvard University helped the Crimson to a 3-0 home weekend by posting five goals and two assists with a field block to earn the October 30 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Player of the Week award.
A three-time weekly honor recipient with prior Rookie (November 25, 2019) and Player (October 18, 2021) recognition, Putnam started the three-game home stand for the Crimson at Blodgett Pool on Saturday, October 28, by tallying a goal and an assist versus both Long Island University (23-7 W) and Iona University (19-10 W).
On Sunday, October 29, he capped off the weekend by notching a field block and three goals – including the game-winning strike in sudden victory overtime – as Harvard stunned No. 7 Princeton University, 14-13.
