BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Noah Hodge (So., San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) of No. 9-ranked Harvard University recorded 37 saves in a pair of victories for the Crimson to earn status as the November 4 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

He opened a three-game NWPC homestand on Saturday-Sunday, November 2-3, by recording 17 saves in a 14-7 defeat of St. Francis College Brooklyn.  He did not appear in Harvard’s final game on November 2 – a 16-7 victory over Iona College – but returned to the water to post a career-high 20 saves in a 10-6 win over No. 20 Princeton University to keep the Crimson undefeated on the year.  The win locked-up the regular season title for Harvard and clinched the No. 1 seed for the Northeast Water Polo Conference Championship on November 22-24 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The award marks the ninth weekly honor bestowed on the sophomore goalie during his intercollegiate career following two NWPC Rookie (October 15, October 29) and four Defensive Player (September 10, October 1, October 29, November 5) of the Week nods in 2018 before claiming the September 9 and October 21 NWPC Defensive Player laurels earlier this year.
