CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Harvard University women’s water polo first-years Orli Cooper (Greensboro, N.C./Guilford Home Educators) and Niki Piovan (Vouliagmeni, Greece HAEF Athens College) will compete in the World Aquatics Women’s U18 Water Polo Championships in Chengdu, China. A goalkeeper, Cooper will represent the United States, while Piovan – a defender – will play for Greece with the tournament beginning on Saturday, September 14.
The United States will play Hungary in their first game on Monday, September 16, while Greece will open with the Netherlands on Sunday, September 15
Piovan will play in a group with Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain while Cooper and the United States will face Australia, Hungary, and New Zealand in the preliminary round.
