BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Owen Hale (So., El Segundo, Calif./Loyola) of No. 13-ranked Harvard University totaled eight goals, six assists and six steals during a 4-0 weekend for the Crimson at home during the Harvard Invitational. For his performance, he garners recognition as the October 18 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week.
A first-time weekly honor recipient from the league office, Hale notched three goals with a field block and a pair of ejections drawn in a 16-5 defeat of Gannon University. He added a goal, two assists and three ejections drawn in a 15-9 managing of Wagner College to accompany pairs of goals, assists and steals in a 14-8 victory over Salem University. Further, he accounted for two goals, two assists and four steals as Harvard stopped Mount St. Mary’s University by a 20-9 count.
