BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Zoe Banks (So., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn) of No. 17-ranked Harvard University posted 20 saves, four assists and a pair of steals during a 2-1 weekend for the Crimson at home during the Harvard Invitational to garner notice as the March 9 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time Defensive Player of the Week recipient after previously earning the February 11, 2019 award, Banks opened up the Crimson’s weekend on Saturday, March 7, by stopping six shots over three quarter of play during an 18-8 defeat of Long Island University.  She helped hold the Sharks to only eight goals for the second time this season and blanked LIU in the third quarter.  In addition, she notched an assist and a steal during the victory.

Facing No. 24 Marist College later in the day, she racked up 10 saves, two assists and two steals as Harvard fell to the Red Foxes in overtime, 12-11. 

Banks wrapped up the weekend on Sunday, March 8, but turning aside four shots and dishing out an assist during a 16-15 defeat of No. 25 California State University-East Bay.
