BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zoe Banks (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn) of No. 19-ranked Harvard University made 20 saves over the span of three games at the 2022 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Championship hosted by Bucknell University on Friday-Sunday, April 22-24 to earn status as the April 25 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

An eight-time Defensive Player of the Week selection with honors during the 2022 (February 28, March 14, April 4, April 11, April 18), 2020 (March 9) and 2019 (February 11) seasons, Banks made six saves in thee quarters of work versus Saint Francis University in an 16-0 win on Friday, April 22.  Following an eight save performance in an 11-9 semifinal defeat of No. 20 Princeton University on Saturday, April 23, she returned to the water on Sunday, April 24, to make six saves in a 10-4 title game defeat by No. 7 the University of Michigan.

It marked the first time in program history that Harvard advanced to a league championship title game in women’s water polo.
