BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zoe Banks (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn) of No. 20-ranked Harvard University adds to her legacy as the netminder made 24 saves with 11 goals against, an assist and a pair of steals during a 3-0 weekend for the Crimson.  For her efforts, Banks is named the February 28 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

A three-time Defensive Player of the Week selection with previous honors during the 2020 (March 9) and 2019 seasons (February 11), Banks helped the Crimson turn back Saint Francis University (11-4 W), Mount St. Mary’s University (18-0 W) and host Bucknell University (8-7 W OT) at Kinney Natatorium in Lewisburg, Pa. to improve the team’s record to 12-1 on the season.

On Saturday, February 26, she turned away seven shots versus Saint Francis.  Banks concluded the day by blocking nine shots and adding an assist and steal in a shutout of Mount St. Mary’s.  It marked the first shutout by Harvard since a 17-0 victory over La Salle University on February 3, 2019, during the Bruno Classic at Brown University.

Banks cashed out her weekend on Sunday, February 27, by making eight saves as Harvard outlasted Bucknell in overtime.
