PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Host/No. 20-ranked Brown University clipped Wagner College, 15-10, and took a 17-4 setback versus No. 6 the University of California-Davis at home in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center during the second day of competition at the 2026 Bruno Classic.
Facing Wagner, the Bears took an early lead against the Seahawks as Dominik Balla started off the scoring just 23 seconds into the first quarter. Balla tallied three more goals as the Bears took a 7-5 lead to close out the half, with additional goals from Jaxson Tierney, Mac Berry and Filip Josipovic.
Brown held on to their lead for the remainder of the game, outscoring Wagner 8-5 in the final two quarters. Balla scored another goal in the third for a total of five for the game, while Tierney and Griffin Tunney both notched two more goals. The Bears had eight different goal scorers combine for their 15 goals,
Dimitrios Kratimenos made 11 saves for the Bears in net.
In Brown’s second match of the day, UC-Davis took the lead in the first half and never looked back. Máté Tymcyna scored a lone goal for the Bears as the team exited halftime trailing 7-1.
Balla, Tymcyna and Neveh Yechiely each recorded solo markers in the second half to account for the remainder of Brown’s offense.
In goal, Ryan Miele made seven saves for the Bears.
