BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Indiana University Hoosiers Jessica Gaudreault and Shae (Fournier) La Roche helped Canada in an 11-7 loss to host team Hungary at the Alfred Hajos National Swimming Stadium in both teams’ concluding game of Group A competition at the 2022/19th Annual FINA World Championships hosted in Budapest, Hungary.

Canada – which stands at 1-1-1 following a 7-7 tie versus Italy on Monday, June 20, and a 22-2 defeat of Colombia on Wednesday, June 22, will next be in action on Sunday, June 26, against the Netherlands with a spot in the quarterfinals at stake.

A 2019 graduate of Indiana and a current assistant coach at the University of Michigan, Gaudreault stopped three-of-14 shots to raise her tournament totals to 19 saves on 39 shots as the Canadians suffered their first defeat of the championship.

La Roche – who scored once in the victory over Italy – shot zero-for-five with a pair of steals.
