NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Connecticut College men’s water polo team opened its 2021 campaign at Iona College as the Camels fell to the Gaels by a 17-9 decision. It was the Camels’ first opportunity to face outside competition since competing against Washington & Jefferson College at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-West Championship on November 10, 2019.
“It felt so good to play a game,” said Connecticut head coach Matt Anderson.
“This was a great reward for the student-athletes who have worked hard since September for this opportunity. I am so happy the school gave us a chance, and I was impressed with how we played. Our student-athletes competed, but most importantly, they wore smiles the whole game and relished the opportunity to play.”
