KENOSHA, Wisc. — Izzy Bertaud (Jr., Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) was named the 2020-21 Carthage College Craig Deaton Award recipient. The award goes to “one male and one female athlete who exhibits excellence in athletics, academics, leadership and community support”. She shares honors with Firebirds’ football athlete Kevin O’Boyle.
A three-year member of the Carthage College women’s water polo team, Bertaud registered three goals, two assists and a pair of steals during the 2021 season. In the COVID-19 abbreviated 2020 season, she appeared in seven games with a pair of goals, one assist and three steals.
