BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Jessica Gaudreault (Sr., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada/St. Joseph) of No. 12-ranked Indiana University made 21 saves with 14 goals allowed, three steals and an assist in a 4-0 weekend during the Hoosier Invitational to claim accolades as the January 29 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

Following a three-save performance in a 19-4 defeat of the University of Toronto, she made 10 saves in a 7-6 victory over No. 13 University of California-Santa Barbara.  Gaudreault added three steals versus the Gauchos, a career high that led Indiana’s 13 steals on the night.  Further, she killed all six UC-Santa Barbara power-play bids to permit Indiana to escape with a one-goal win.

She added 10 saves with an assist in a 17-8 defeat of Iona College in addition to one saves in eight minutes with no goals allowed to help turn back McKendree University, 14-3.

The award marks the 10th weekly honor from the league for Gaudreault who previously earned seven nods in 2014 (January 20, February 3, March 31, April 28, May 5, May 12 – Western Division Defensive Player of the Week; March 31 – Western Division Player of the Week) and two in 2013 (February 4 – Western Division Rookie of the Week; February 25 – Western Division Defensive Player of the Week).
