BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Freshman Chris Freese (Bellevue, Wash./Interlake) notched six goals, one assist, seven ejections drawn, three steals and a block at the Bucknell University Invitational during a 1-3 weekend for Division III No. 10-ranked Johns Hopkins University. For his performance, Freese earns status as the September 23 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.
Facing No. 12-ranked Harvard University on Saturday, September 21, he scored on his only shot, to go with a drawn ejection and a block in a 16-5 loss. He followed that with four points, including his first career hat-trick, one drawn ejection and a steal in a 16-13 defeat by No. 14 St. Francis College Brooklyn.
On Sunday, September 22, Freese drew two ejections and swiped a steal versus No. 14 George Washington University in a 16-7 loss. He wrapped up the weekend with two goals, three drawn ejections and a steal in a 16-11 defeat of Mercyhurst University.
