BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Long Island University men’s water polo team returned home to Brooklyn after a West Coast trip and did not miss a beat to defeat Connecticut College, 13-7.
The Sharks went up 8-0 in the second period after a goal from freshman Anthony Gauna and the match was all but sealed up.
The Camels fought back late, but the deficit was far too much to overcome and LIU cruised to a win.
Riyad Shehadeh led the Sharks with six goals, bringing his season total to 61. Gauna was second with a season-high three scores, while Tony Franco put two in the back of the net. Both Logan Morgan and Charlie Downey chipped in solo goals.
