BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Anthony Gauna (Fr., Lodi, Calif./St. Mary’s) of Long Island University makes history by scoring seven goals to become the inaugural Sharks’ athlete to earn a Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) weekly honor by claiming laurels as the October 30 NWPC Rookie of the Week.

He helped the Sharks to a home victory at LIU Pool in Brooklyn, N.Y., as Long Island overwhelmed Connecticut College by a 13-7 score on Friday, October 27. 

On Saturday, October 28, in Cambridge, Mass., he scored once in a 22-7 loss at No. 10-ranked Harvard University and added a pair of markers as the Sharks finished the day with a 14-8 loss at Division III No. 5 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The team concluded the weekend on Sunday, October 29, with an 18-9 setback at No. 19 Brown University in Providence, R.I.
