BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lucille Moran (Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich/Huron) of Division III No. 9-ranked Macalester College scored 12 goals in a trio of victories at the Carthage College Tournament to collect laurels as the February 26 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.

The 2017 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the CWPA Division III Championship MVP, Moran wasted little time in making her mark in 2018 by scoring three consecutive goals in the final three minutes of play to power the Scots to a 6-5 victory over Monmouth College in a non-conference game on Saturday, February 24.  She followed up the performance later in the game by rattling off six markers to equal the offensive output of Macalester’s foe in a 9-6 defeat of Division II McKendree University.

On Sunday, February 25, she tallied two goals in Macalester’s 11-5 win over host Carthage.

The nod marks the fifth weekly award bestowed on Moran after previously garnering the February 29 and April 4 Division III Rookie of the Week awards during the 2016 season. Last season, she shared the March 27 Division III Player of the Week award with Becca Dabrowski (Jr., McHenry, Ill./West) of Monmouth College and earned accolades as the April 24 Division III Player of the Week for leading the Scots to their inaugural league championship crown.
