BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Caspar Lightner (Fr., San Diego, Calif./The Bishop’s School) of Division III No. 8-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was named to the 2025 USA Water Polo USA Water Polo Men’s Division III Collegiate National Championship All-Tournament Team.
Competing at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont Calif., Lightner scored four times in the Engineers’ 11-7 semifinal loss to Division III No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, December 6, prior to adding three goals and three assists in a 14-13 defeat by Division III No. 9 Augustana College on Sunday, December 7, in the championship’s Third Place game.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, which claimed the championship by defeating Pomona-Pitzer by a 9-4 score on Sunday, December 7, had three athletes named to the All-Tournament led led by Most Valuable Player Nick Kennedy along with Luke Weigle and goalkeeper Jake Taylor. Augustana goalkeeper Declan Hutton and Mark Addison join Lightner in completing the All-Tournament team.
