BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA)/Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)/Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Commissioner Dan Sharadin announced the appointment of Matthew Vandergrift as the leagues’ inaugural Director of Broadcast Services.

The Director of Creative Services and Director of Broadcast Services positions were created from the previously standing Director of Multimedia role which oversaw the league’s streaming, live-championship event production, educational content and video services for sponsors and the leagues’ membership.

In his position, Vandergrift is responsible for the Remote Streaming program which coordinates the broadcast of collegiate club and select varsity games across the leagues’ geographic footprint via camera kits that are shipped from the league office.  He oversees the hiring, scheduling and coordinating local camera operators; coordinating with host institutions’ information technology (IT) staff; recruiting, training and supporting the leagues’ remote announcers/producers; verifying the implementation of sponsor ads and general content in the broadcasts; maintaining and repairing the remote streaming kits; programing/scheduling events in the leagues’ streaming host and trouble-shooting problems; submitting contractor payment information with the leagues’ bookkeeper; and downloading archives of all CWPA/MAWPC/NWPC produced broadcasts.

During the championships, he will share the duties of overseeing the CWPA/MAWPC/NWPC collegiate club and varsity broadcasts with the Director of Creative Services as the pair works in tandem to coordinate and produce the events.

A 2022 graduate of DeSales University with a Bachelor of Arts in Television/Film with a Minor in Digital Art prior to receiving a Master of Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University in 2025, Vandergrift joins the leagues following a two-year tenure in the Mount St. Mary’s Office of Sports Information.

A Video/Social Media Assistant at the Mount from 2023-to-2025, he produced/directed ESPN+ broadcasts along with producing non-ESPN+ athletic events through Mount All-Access, including water polo, baseball, softball and other sports.

In addition to his time at Mount St. Mary’s, Vandergrift has worked for the Community Media Center in Westminster, Md., since 2022, producing live-streamed political, sporting and community broadcasts across Carroll County.  Further, he also served as a photographer for Lifetouch in Harrisburg, Pa., conducting on-site photo sessions at schools across Pennsylvania beginning in 2025.
