ERIE. Pa. — The Mercyhurst University men’s water polo team will welcome seven other squads to the Cathedral Prep-Villa Events Center when it hosts the 2017 Laker Invitational on September 8-10.
The Lakers will host fellow Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference members Gannon University, Washington & Jefferson College and Salem International University and non-conference opponents Cerritos College, Lindenwood University, Penn State Behrend and the University of Toronto.
Cerritos participates in the California Community College Athletic Association, Lindenwood is a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) collegiate club ranks and Penn State Behrend plays in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). Toronto, the lone international squad, competes under the Ontario University Athletics banner.
A total of 17 games will be contested over three days, starting with an 8:00 p.m. matchup between Mercyhurst and Cerritos on September 8.
