BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Miller Geschke (So., Los Altos, Calif./Menlo School) of Division III No. 4-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) posted 16 goals, eight assists, eight steals and three field blocks during a 3-1 Bruno Classic weekend at Brown University’s Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center and Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool in competition.  For his performance, he claims notice as the September 9 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Player of the Week.

On Saturday, September 7, at Brown, Geschke notched four goals on 10 shots with an assist and a steal during a 15-9 loss to No. 14 Bucknell University prior to pumping in a single-game career six goals with four assists and four steals in an 18-12 defeat of Wagner College.

Competing across Cambridge, Mass., at Harvard on Sunday, September 8, he found the back of the cage two times with three assists and a pair of steals in a 23-14 victory over McKendree University.  Geschke concluded the weekend by netting the game-winning goal with one second remaining against Division III No. 8 California Lutheran University to lift the Engineers to a 7-6 win.  Overall, he notched four goals with a steal against the Kingsmen.

Geschke’s selection marks the first time an MIT athlete has garnered any NWPC weekly honor since Nolan Kruse ’16 was recognized with Player and Defensive Player of the Week status on October 24, 2016.
