BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Recent Princeton University graduate Roko Pozaric (Zagreb, Croatia/Gimnazija Titusa Brezovackog) fired off a man-up shot and won one-of-four sprint attempts for Canada in a 22-10 loss to Montenegro on Friday, July 18, at the 2025 World Aquatics Championship in Singapore, Republic of Singapore.

The loss guarantees Canada can not finish higher than Ninth Place in the final standings as the Canadians will take on Romania at 1:45 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, July 20/10:45 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, July 19, in a Ninth-12th Place game. Japan and Brazil will square-off in the other Ninth-12th Place game at 12:10 a.m. Eastern/9:10 p.m. Pacific with the victors/losers of both games meeting for Ninth and 11th place, respectively, later in the tournament.
Montenegro wasted little time in pulling away from Canada by acquiring leads of 7-3 and 12-3 by the conclusion of the first and second quarters, respectively. Leading 17-7 by the end of the third quarter, Montenegro iced the victory with a 5-3 scoring margin in the fourth quarter.
