2023 Mount St. Mary’s University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

EMMITSBURG, Md. — Mount St. Mary’s University men’s water polo announced its schedule for the 2023 regular season. Included are 25 contests, with four tournaments and 12 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) games.

Four contests occur at the home pool in the Knott Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex (ARCC), including a league doubleheader on Saturday, October 7, with the Wagner College Seahawks in the morning and the George Washington University Revolutionaries in the evening. Remaining conference games in Emmitsburg include contests versus the Bucknell University Bison (Friday, October 6) and the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays (Sunday, October 15).

Games begin Labor Day Weekend in Providence, Rhode Island with a pair of games at Brown University versus Mercyhurst University and University of the Pacific on Saturday, September 2, prior to games against Augustana College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Sunday, September 3, at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. Subsequent tournaments take place at Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa., on Saturday-Sunday, September 16-17 (vs. Mercyhurst, Salem University, Fordham University (MAWPC game); Salem in Salem, Va., on Saturday-Sunday, September 23-24 (vs. Navy (MAWPC game), McKendree University, Gannon University and Penn State Behrend; and four games in Southern California for the Gary Troyer Tournament on Friday-Saturday, September 29-30.  Opponents at the Gary Troyer Tournament will be announced in early September.

Home MAWPC games versus Bucknell (Friday, October 6), Wagner and George Washington (Saturday, October 7) lead into a road league game at Bucknell on Saturday, October 14.  Following another home game versus Johns Hopkins (Sunday, October 15), the Mountaineers head back onto the road for clashes at Wagner in Staten Island, N.Y. (Saturday, October 28), Fordham in the Bronx, N.Y. (Saturday, October 28) prior to the regular season finale weekend at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md., and George Washington in Washington, D.C. (Saturday, November 4) along with the Navy in Annapolis, Md. (Sunday, November 5).

The MAWPC Championship will be decided on Friday-Sunday, November 17-19, at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium.

This fall marks the fourth season of play for the Mount St. Mary’s men’s water polo team. In their third year (2022), the team went 15-14 overall with a 6-10 mark in conference action.
