BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Myha Pinto (So., Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) of the United States Naval Academy starred in both the field and cage for the Midshipmen during a 3-1 weekend of divisional play at James Madison University over the weekend.  For her performance, she is lauded as the February 17 Women’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division tri-Player of the Week.

She shares the honor with Claire Turner (Fr., Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) and Laura Vetter (Sr., Monterey, Calif./Notre Dame) of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Competing at utility in the majority of Navy’s contests, she aided the Mids’ cause in sinking the University of Virginia (13-12 W), James Madison (17-6 W) and Georgetown University (16-4 W) to accompany a setback against Virginia Tech (18-6 L) by tallying 15 goals, eight assists, nine steals, four field blocks.   Her most critical offensive strikes came against Virginia as she netted three goals in the fourth quarter to anchor Navy in a one-score victory.

In addition, she took over in cage for the Midshipmen for several quarters and turned aside 10 shots to factor on both ends of the tank for the Naval Academy.
