NEW YORK, N.Y. — Officials seeking to work National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship men’s and women’s games next season should be aware RefQuest (RQ+), the new NCAA officiating services platform, launched for water polo on June 20. The registration fee for water polo is $50.
In 2021, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) conducted a request for proposals for the officiating services program, including registration, education, assigning and payment services for selected NCAA championship officials. RefQuest (RQ+) was selected as the officiating services platform provider for the NCAA beginning Summer 2022. RQ+ will serve as the provider for five years, through August 31, 2027.
Rules tests, video content, background checks, digital rules books and case books and other sport-specific information are available on the RQ+ platform.
As part of the NCAA’s commitment to the recruitment and retention of officials in all sports, it is anticipated the NCAA will expand the officiating services program to encompass all NCAA championships. To complement these recruitment and retention efforts, the registration fees for Division II and Division III officials in most sports are reduced or remain the same for the duration of the five-year contract with RQ+.
NOTE: Officials need to register if they wish to be eligible to referee at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship. Officials who did not wish to officiate at the NCAA Championship are not required to register.
