BRIDGEPORT. Pa. — California State University-Northridge graduate Nicole Bacoyanis joins the staff of Carthage College head coach Seth Hughes as a graduate assistant women’s water polo coach for the Firebirds.
A 2025 CSUN graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies, the Glenview, Ill., native is pursuing a Masters Degree in Sport Management at Carthage.
Bacoyanis totaled 27 goals, 31 assists, 30 steals, eight field blocks and 12 ejections drawn over the span of 83 games during her four-year career at Northridge.
As a senior in 2025, she scored a career-high 15 goals and 26 points to go with 11 assists, eight steals and two field blocks She netted a career-high seven goals and three assists for 10 points in a victory over Carthage and earned a spot on the Big West All-Academic Team.
Bacoyanis accounted for five goals, seven assists, 12 points and two steals with an appearance on the Big West All-Academic Team as a junior in 2024 after notching seven goals, 11 assists, 20 steal and four field blocks to go along with Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team honors as a sophomore in 2023.
She began her collegiate career in 2022 with two assists and a field block.
The Glenbrook South High School (Ill.) graduate previously served as a contributing writer for On SI covering Major League Baseball (MLB) and has experience as a Social Media intern for the Windy City ThunberBolts of the Frontier League.
