CARLISLE, Pa. — Hank Wildenradt (Sr., Rocklin, Calif.) scored five times to pick-up Player of the Game status as Sierra Pacific Division Champion/No. 1-ranked California State University-Chico overcame some early offensive struggles to overcome Rocky Mountain Division Champion/No. 19 the University of Colorado in the Fifth Place game of the 2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.
Competing at the Carlisle YMCA Aquatic Center in Chico State’s first appearance at the National Collegiate Club Championship, the Wildcats outscored the Buffaloes 3-2 and 4-1 in the second and third quarters, respectively, and kept pace with Colorado in the game’s closing minutes as both teams registered three goals in the fourth quarter.
For Chico, Cameron Reed (Jr., Rocklin, Calif.) (four) and Joe Stanbridge (So., Huntington Beach, Calif.) (two) joined Wildenradt in racking up multi-goal games. Tony Trapanese (Fr., Vallejo, Calif.) and Declan Linnane (So., Piedmont, Calif.) accounted for solo scores in helping their team post a Top Five finish.
Matteo Petty (three), Tyler Patay (two) and Ryan Bannon (two) inflicted the majority of Colorado’s offensive as the trio combined for seven goals. Alex Rusish, Damon Schultz and Chase King also put away shots as the Buffaloes tack on a Sixth Place mark to a history that includes prior Second (1997), Fifth (2016), Sixth (2023), Seventh (2001, 2014, 2021), Eighth (2010, 2023), Ninth (2015, 2024), 11th (2017) and 12th (2008) place finishes.
