LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Bucknell University women’s water polo team was downed by No. 10-ranked Long Beach State University, 21-4, in its final game of its California trip over Spring Break. 

The 49ers scored the first five goals of the game in the first four minutes in racing out to a commanding lead early on.  Paige Furano got the Bison on the board at the 3:17 mark of the first quarter. 

However, LBSU kept its foot on the gas, scoring 15 goals in total in the first half to take a 15-3 advantage at the half en route to a 21-4 win.  Boati Motau and Chloe Smith each added goals in the first half, while Smith added her second goal of the day with 1:37 left in the third quarter on the power-play for Bucknell’s lone goal of the second half.
