BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — No. 11-ranked Princeton University and Olympic Gold Medalist goalie Ashleigh Johnson will face the nation’s best in 2016 as the Tigers will meet defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women’s Water Polo Champion/No. 2 the University of Southern California on Thursday, March 23, in a game broadcast live on the PAC-12 Los Angeles Network. Game time is currently set for 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
The game will mark the third all-time meeting between the two programs as USC holds a 2-0 advantage in the series courtesy a 10-4 victory on March 18, 1998 at home in Los Angeles prior to collecting a 14-2 win on May 11, 2012 at San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif. during the NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship tournament.
For Princeton, the USC game will mark the Tigers’ second and final nationally-televised contest. On Saturday, February 25, Princeton will host longtime nemesis Harvard University at 10:30 a.m. Eastern/7:30 a.m. Pacific in a non-league home game at DeNunzio Pool broadcast around the globe on ESPNU.
