CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The No. 13-ranked Harvard University women’s water polo team defeated No. 14 Princeton University, 8-5, in a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) game at Blodgett Pool as part of the Harvard Invitational.

The Crimson began the contest with four straight tallies before this goal from Ava Houlahan put the Tigers on the scoreboard. Harvard scored two more times and led 6-1 at halftime.

Princeton made a push to begin the second half, outscoring Harvard, 3-1, in the third quarter to get the deficit within three at 7-4.

Krotts started the fourth frame with another goal to close the gap to two, but Harvard scored with 1:19 on the clock to keep Princeton at bay and secure the victory.

Krotts’ two goals led the Tigers with Charlotte Riches, Houlahan and Shanna Davidson each scoring once.  Lindsey Lucas registered seven saves in the loss.

The loss marks the first blemish on Princeton’s record as the team falls to 14-1 on the season, including a 3-1 mark in CWPA action.  It marks Princeton’s first loss since a 10-8 setback in overtime against Harvard on April 27 at Brown University in the 2025 CWPA Championship title game.
