SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The No. 23-ranked Brown University women’s water polo dropped a 12-5 verdict at No. 17 San Diego State University’s Aztec Aquaplex.
Madeleine Poissonnier scored two goals for the Bears to lead the way. Aubrie Anderson, Sofia Flierl and Megan Newby each tallied one goal.
Somto Oafo finished the night with six saves, while Ava Schoening picked up five.
Brown trailed 3-2 after the first quarter before San Diego State shutout the Bears over the next two quarters to make the score 10-2 following 24 minutes of action.
The Bears added three goals in the final quarter and permitted a pair of strikes in taking a seven-goal defeat.
