LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The No. 14-ranked Princeton University women’s water polo team fell on the road to No. 2 the University of California-Los Angeles, 12-4, at the Spieker Aquatics Center.
After UCLA began the game with a goal, Princeton ripped off three straight tallies and led 3-1 after eight minutes of action.
The Bruins countered with their own 3-0 push to jump in front, 4-3. Vivian Golub tied game at four-all with 4:40 left in the first half, but UCLA answered with three more goals – including one at the buzzer – to go up 7-4 at the break.
The Bruins put the contest away with two goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth frame.
Golub, Charlotte Riches, Emese Batizi and Olivia Krotts scored for Princeton. Lindsey Lucas had 11 saves in the loss.
