PROVIDENCE, R.I. — No. 20-ranked Brown University initiated the 2026 campaign with a 16-14 victory over No. 13 California Baptist University at home in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center to begin the Bruno Classic.
Following a 20-11 exhibition loss to No. 11 University of the Pacific earlier in the days, the Bears held their own during the first half versus Cal Baptist with goals from Jaxson Tierney, Roland Csendes, Filip Josipovic and Griffin Tunney allowing the teams to enter halftime tied at six-all.
The Bears added four more goals in the third quarter, but CBU maintained a lead heading into the final quarter.
However, Brown put up six goals while holding CBU to just two in the fourth quarter to secure a two score victory.
Six different Bears found the back of the net in the final eight minutes. Dimitrios Kratimenos made 12 saves in goal to help Brown earn its first win of the season.
