PRINCETON, N.J. — The Saint Francis University women’s water polo team was unable to reel in the No. 24-ranked Long Island University Sharks as the Red Flash took a 19-12 setback at the 2025 Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University.

The Sharks went on an unanswered seven-goal run in the first quarter until Sam Eschleman score the Red Flash’s first goal of the game with 1:40 left in the opening quarter.

Saint Francis began to chip away at the LIU defense late in the third quarter with Megan Marlin, Alondra Torres and Breeze Ohlson scoring back-to-back to move the Red Flash within 14-7.

Trailing 16-7 entering the fourth quarter, Saint Francis outscored LIU by a 5-3 count in the final minutes to close the gap to seven goals prior to the final horn.

Eschleman led the way for the Red Flash with four goals, while Ohlson netted a pair of markers in her collegiate debut. Kayla Rhoads, Georgia Ellison, Adi Garges, Sarah Hartwell, Marlin and Torres each scored one goal.
