GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Warren Cooper (Fr., Lafayette, Calif./Acalanes) scored seven times to earn Player of the Game status as Sierra Pacific Division Champion/No. 3 California Maritime Academy topped Great Lakes Division Champion/Division III No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis, 18-9, in the semifinals of the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by the University of Florida.
The victory advances Cal Maritime to a 6:20 p.m. Eastern game later today versus New England Division Champion/No. 14 Boston University in the semifinals, while Washington will take on tournament host/No. 4/Florida Division Champion the University of Florida at 7:30 p.m. with a spot in the Fifth Place game on the line.
The Keelhaulers never trailed in the game as the team opened up lead of 6-2, 10-2 and 14-6 by the conclusion of the first, second and third quarters, respectively.
