LONG BEACH, Calif. — No. 24-ranked Brown University dropped a women’s water polo contest at No. 6 Long Beach State University, 14-6.
Six different Bears scored on the night with Sophie Golub, Katharine Knowles, Emily Suong, Ella Palmer, Sierra Martin and Aubrie Anderson all finding the back of the net.
Sarah Decker had nine saves on the night for Brown.
Suong, Palmer and Martin all scored in the first quarter as the Bears were tied with Long Beach State after eight minutes.
Long Beach State won both the second and third quarters by 3-1 count to take a 9-5 lead heading into the final quarter. Brown was unable to come back in the concluding eight minutes as The Beach padded its lead with a 5-1 surge.
