PRINCETON, N.J. —  The No. 6-ranked Princeton University women’s water polo team topped Long Island University, 13-9, at DeNunzio Pool on the second day of the 2025 Princeton Invitational.

Kayla Yelensky led the Tigers with four goals, while Shanna Davidson also added a hat trick.

After tallies from Jovana Sekulic and Davidson, LIU registered four straight strikes to double up the Tigers at 4-2 with 4:35 to go in the first half.

The Tigers blitzed the Sharks with three goals over the next two minutes prior to the road squad evening the contest at five-all before halftime.

After the two teams exchanged tallies, Kate Mallery, Ava Houlahan, Davidson and Yelensky scored to put the Tigers in front by a 10-6 exiting the third quarter.  Sekulic and Kendall Wyer began the fourth frame by scoring to put the game away as Princeton rolled to another victory.

Yelensky (four), Davidson (three), Sekulic (two), Wyer (two), Mallery and Ally Lurie combined for the Tigers’ 13 goals, while Rachael Carver (two), Davidson (two), Mallery, Ava Houlahan, Grace Houlahan and Olivia Krotts dished out assists.

Lindsey Lucas claimed the victory in cage with 13 saves.
