BRONX/NEW ROCHELLE/BROOKLYN, N.Y. — No. 9-ranked Princeton University wrapped up a three-game slate in New York as the Tigers knocked off Iona University, 14-7, and Long Island University, 15-12, in Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) competition following a 16-14 non-conference loss at No. 5/Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) frontrunner Fordham University.

Princeton battled Fordham in a back-and-forth contest, trailing 15-11 in the fourth quarter before scoring three unanswered goals to pull within one with less than 30 seconds remaining. Despite the late push, the Tigers came up just short in the 16-14 decision in the Bronx.

Ádám Peocz led the Tigers with five goals, while Taylor Bell added three. William Swart contributed two goals, with Ádám LeSieur, Tas Palcza, Tibi Cojocariu and Otto Stothart also finding the back of the net.

Kristóf Kovács made 14 saves in taking the loss versus the Rams.

The Tigers bounced back against Iona in New Rochelle to double-up the Gaels behind a balanced offensive effort. Cojocariu led Princeton with four goals, while Gavin Appeldorn, Enrique Nuño, Bell and Swart each added two. LeSieur and Luke Weichert also scored in the win to support a nine save effort by K. Kovács.

Princeton closed out the weekend with a 15-12 win over LIU in Brooklyn. Similar to the earlier victory, the Tigers built an early lead and held on throughout the contest to secure their second win of the day.

Oliver Marcin led the way offensively with five goals, while Cojocariu and Palcza each recorded three. Nuño added two markers to accompany solo tallies by Peocz and Boti Kovács.

K. Kovács recorded nine saves in wrapping up the three-day Empire State swing for Princeton.
