WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team picked up Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-East Region victories over Connecticut College, 16-6, & Utica University, 17-4, at Washington & Jefferson College’s Henry Natatorium.

The Lions put together their highest offensive output of the season in game one versus Connecticut with 16 goals and set a new benchmark in game two with 17 scores against Utica.

Behrend had 10 different goal-scorers in the win over Utica with Marley Persch (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville) having a team-high four tallies.

Emily McNaughton (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) found the back of the net twice in the first half against the Pioneers, ending the day with three goals in the two victories.

Angela Laier (Lansing, Mich./Holt), Shannon Young (Roseville, Calif./Roseville) and Persch each had three goals in the morning matchup with Connecticut, while five other Lions would find the scoresheet against the Camels

Wright and Sarah Mancebo (Tulare, Calif./Mission Oak) also registered multi-goal games, having two apiece.
