BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Devon Van Rensburg (Fr., Johannesburg, South Africa/Crawford) of Penn State Behrend scored eight goals to earn March 19 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the Week honors as the Lions went 2-1 in a trio of non-conference games.
Facing Grove City College at home on Friday, March 16, Van Rensburg posted six goals as the Lions downed the Wolverines, 17-10. On Sunday, March 18, at Washington & Jefferson College, she scored once in a 9-7 loss to the host Presidents before tacking on a goal with three steals and two assists in a 16-7 victory over the California Institute of Technology.
The award marks the inaugural weekly laurel bestowed on Van Rensburg by the league office.
