FUKUOKA, Japan — Former Princeton University standout Ashley Guapacha ’15 (nee Hatcher) shot zero-for-four with a steal and a trio of sprint victories on three attempts in 24:05 of action as Argentina concluded its participation at the 20th World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, with a 10-8 loss to Kazakhstan in the 15th Place game.
Argentina fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter and kept pace with Kazakhstan in the second quarter to trail 6-3 at halftime. In the third quarter, Argentina held a 4-2 scoring advantage to chip its deficit down to 8-7 entering the fourth quarter. However, Kazakhstan held on by outscoring its foe 2-1 in the final frame to pull out a two-goal victory.
