BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lindsey Lucas (So., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 16-ranked Princeton University made 33 saves during three games in California to receive the March 18 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week honor.

The honor marks the 15th weekly recognition of Lucas’ intercollegiate career.  Last season, she claimed the January 30, February 27 and May 15 CWPA Division I Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week awards along with notice as the February 13, March 20, April 3 and April 10 Rookie and May 1 Defensive Player of the Week.  She previously garnered Defensive Player of the Week status during the 2024 campaign by earning the February 12, February 19 and March 4 awards.

Lucas started the week by making nine saves as the Tigers took down Division III No. 1/No. 23 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont on Wednesday, March 13.  Two days later, she turned aside 12 scoring attempts in Los Angeles as Princeton suffered a 10-8 setback at No. 11 Loyola Marymount University on Friday, March 15.

On Saturday, March 16, she again turned aside 12 shots as Princeton fell at No. 1 the University of California-Los Angeles by a 10-6 score.
