2023 Princeton University Men’s Water Polo Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. — The two-time defending Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion Princeton University men’s water polo team announced its 2023 schedule.
“Coming off the best season in program history, we are eagerly anticipating the start of our 2023 campaign,” said Princeton head coach Dustin Litvak.
“Our goal remains the same; to compete for a national championship. This schedule, while ambitious, should put us in a great position to attack that objective at the end of the season. On top of playing the best of the best on the East Coast, we will be making two California trips. In September, we will be participating in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Invite, the top regular season tournament of the year featuring the top 16 teams in the country. In October, we will venture back out west to play three games in Southern California before heading north to play four more. The returners, incoming guys and coaches are all hard at work preparing for the exciting challenges ahead.”
The Tigers open up the 2023 schedule with a mini-tournament at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday, September 2, with Long Island University and George Washington University. The annual Princeton Invitational is the week after (Friday-Sunday, September 8-10) with California Baptist University, Wagner College, Santa Clara University, Chapman University and Fordham University on the schedule for the Tigers.
Princeton goes on the road for the Bucknell University Invitational (Saturday, September 16) against the United States Air Force Academy and the host Bison. The Tigers head on to the West Coast for the first time for the MPSF Invite during the weekend of Friday-Sunday, September 22-24.
NWPC action starts with home matches against Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Saturday, September 30 along with a contest versus Brown University on Sunday, October 1.
The Tigers go back on the road for NWPC conference matches in New York at Long Island and Iona University on Saturday, October 7.
Princeton heads back to the West Coast to take on the University of California-Irvine (Sunday, October 15), the University of California-Santa Barbara (Tuesday, Oct. 17) and the University of California-Los Angeles (Wednesday, October 18) before the Santa Clara Invitational (Friday-Saturday, October 20-21).
The month of October finishes with road games at Brown (Saturday, October 28), MIT (Sunday, October 29) and Harvard (Sunday, October 29).
The regular season wraps up at home in New Jersey with contests versus Long Island and Iona on Saturday, November 4.
The NWPC Championship tournament is slated for Friday-Sunday, November 17-19, at Harvard’s Blodgett Pool in Cambridge, Mass. The play-in game for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship is penciled in for Saturday, November 25, with the NCAA Championship tournament set for Thursday-Sunday, November 30-December 3 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Calif.
