2023 Princeton University Women’s Water Polo Schedule

PRINCETON, N,J. — Princeton University released the institution’s women’s water polo schedule for the 2023 season.

The Tigers will open the season on Friday-Sunday, January 27-29 with the Princeton Winter Tournament as Princeton will face Bucknell University, the University of California-San Diego, Long Island University, the University of California-Santa Barbara and Wagner College at home in DeNunzio Pool.

Head coach Derek Ellingson‘s program hits the road for a trip to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, February 11-12.  At Bucknell, the Tigers tangle with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) trio of Long Island, Villanova University and Mount St. Mary’s University. 

Princeton returns home to the confines of DeNunzio Pool for another home invitational as the Tigers host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, February 25-26, with slated contests versus Harvard University, St. Francis College Brooklyn, Brown  University, Siena College and La Salle University.

The squad heads west for a week-long series of games in California from Saturday, March 11-to-Saturday, March 18.

The Tigers kick-off their West Coast swing on Saturday-Sunday, March 11-12, at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif., hosted by San Diego State University will contests penciled in against Siena, Westcliff University, UC-San Diego and the host Aztecs.  Single games at Long Beach State University in Long Beach, Calif., (Tuesday, March 14) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Pomona, Calif., (Wednesday, March 15) lead to week concluding clashes at Loyola Marymount University and the University of California-Los Angeles in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 18.

Princeton returns home to DeNunzio on Thursday, March 30, for a single game versus Wagner College prior to returning to the road on Saturday-Sunday, April 1-2, for Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) contests at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., against Bucknell, Saint Francis University and defending league champion the University of Michigan.

Another New England league trip follows on Saturday, April 8, as Princeton goes up I-95 to visit Brown University in Providence, R.I., following a trek back to Cambridge, Mass., for a game versus Harvard.

The regular season draws to a close on Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16, as Princeton heads to Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., for games versus Bucknell, Saint Francis and the host Wolverines.

Princeton once again returns home to the Garden State on Friday-Sunday, April 28-30, as the Tigers will host the CWPA Championship at DeNunzio Pool.  The team is coming off a Third Place mark at the 2022 event hosted at Bucknell as the Tigers seek to reclaim the league championship for the first time since 2015.
