BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University will host 19 games on Friday-Sunday, September 9-11, at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, N.J., during the 2022 Princeton Invitational.
The Tigers welcome fellow Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) member institutions St. Francis College Brooklyn and Iona College; the United States Naval Academy, George Washington University, Bucknell University, Fordham University and Wagner College of the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC); Santa Clara University of the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA); and California Lutheran University of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to the Garden State for the weekend of competition.
Action begins on Friday, September 9, as Wagner tangles with St. Francis Brooklyn (3:30 p.m.) and the host Tigers (6:30 p.m.).
Nine games are on tap for Saturday, September 10, as George Washington-vs.-Cal Lutheran (8:00 a.m.), Iona-vs.-Wagner (9:15 a.m.), Princeton-vs.-Bucknell (10:30 a.m.) and Navy-vs.-Santa Clara (11:45 a.m.) account for the morning agenda. St. Francis Brooklyn-vs.-George Washington (1:00 p.m.), Fordham-vs.-Cal Lutheran (2:15 p.m.), Iona-vs.-Navy (3:30 p.m.), Princeton-vs.-Santa Clara (4:45 p.m.) and St. Francis Brooklyn-vs.-Bucknell (6:00 p.m.) complete the second date of competition.
Eight games wrap-up the weekend on Sunday, September 11, with Bucknell-vs.-Cal Lutheran (8:00 a.m.), St. Francis Brooklyn-vs.-Navy (9:15 a.m.), Iona-vs.-Santa Clara (10:30 a.m.), Princeton-vs.-Cal Lutheran (11:45 a.m.), St. Francis Brooklyn-vs.-Fordham (1:00 p.m.), Wagner-vs.-Santa Clara (2:15 p.m.), Iona-vs.-George Washington (3:30 p.m.) and Princeton-vs.-Fordham (4:45 p.m.).
The Princeton versus Fordham game marks a rematch of a 2021 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship play-in game which the NWPC Champion Tigers claimed over the MAWPC Champion Rams by a 17-8 score on November 27 at DeNunzio Pool.
