BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Antonio Knez (Jr., Dubrovnik, Croatia/Gimnazia Dubrovnik) of No. 12-ranked Princeton University stopped 13 shots and produced three steals in a 16-12 road victory over No. 19 St. Francis College Brooklyn to earn status as the October 11 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.
The honor marks the fifth weekly accolade from the league office during Knez’s intercollegiate tenure.
He earned a pair of NWPC Defensive Player of the Week nods on September 23 and October 7 and a Rookie of the Week nod on October 14 during the 2019 season. In addition, he previously picked up the September 6 Defensive Player of the Week award earlier in 2021.
