BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Billy Motherway (Sr., Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei) of No. 9-ranked Princeton University went 2-0 with wins at No. 17 Loyola Marymount University and No. 13 University of California-Irvine last week to earn the September 20 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week award.

He stopped 12 shots in an 11-10 victory at LMU on September 18 prior to racking up 14 stops in an overtime comeback win at UC-Irvine on September 19.

The honor marks his seventh weekly accolade from the league office as Motherway claimed a pair of Rookie of the Week (September 3, November 19) and three Defensive Player of the Week (October 15, November 19, November 26) laurels as a freshman in 2018 prior to picking up Defensive Player of the Week recognition on October 14, 2019.
