BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University’s Charlotte Valentine (So., Orakei, New Zealand/St. Cuthbert’s College) did not play as New Zealand fell to Greece, 7-6, at the Taipei Songshan Sports Center in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) to earn a spot in the 11th Place game at the 29th Summer Universiade/University Games.

The loss forces New Zealand into a 10:30 a.m. local time game on Monday, August 28, against Argentina for 11th Place and drops the team to 0-5-1 at the tournament.

New Zealand previously fell to Canada by a 15-4 count on Friday, August 18.  Further, the squad took a 14-10 loss against Japan on Sunday, August 20, and dropped a 23-3 contest against the Russian Federation on Tuesday, August 22.  On Thursday, August 24, New Zealand tied the United Kingdom/Great Britain 9-9, prior to taking a 15-4 loss versus Hungary on Friday, August 25.
