BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University’s Emese Batizi (So., Budapest, Hungary/Szent István Gimnázium) and Hungary overcame the Netherlands, 19-11, to claim Fifth Place at the 2025 World Aquatics Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships.

Competing in Salvador, Brazil, Batizi shot zero-for-one as the Hungarians acquired a 5-2 lead by the termination of the first quarter and pushed ahead 9-4 by halftime.  Leading 14-8 at the conclusion of the third quarter, Hungary capped off the victory by outscoring the Netherlands by a 5-3 count in the fourth quarter.

During her inaugural season at Princeton, Batizi appeared in 25 games, recording 26 goals, 25 assists and 22 steals as the Tigers finished the season as the runner-up at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship.
